ADULT PROGRAMS Staff Book Recommendations PAGE 7 Historic Walking Tour: The Founders Cemetery Saturday, October 12th at 11:00 a.m. Downtown Branch Library The first cemetery established in Cambridge lies just a block away from the courthouse next to the new Southgate Parkway bridge. There, from 1806 to the end of the 1850s, just before the Civil War, most of the town founders and its earliest citizens were buried. Rediscover the men and women who came from the Isle of Guernsey to help build a new county in the wilderness. The gravestones have stories to tell! Tour starts at the Downtown Branch of the Guernsey County District Public Library, and will be led by Rick Booth. Adult Halloween Party: Sleepy Hollow Revisited Tuesday, October 29th at 6PM Byesville Branch Library Living Historian and Storyteller, Christopher Hart, will join us at the Byesville Branch Library and entertain us with his twist on the beloved classic, Legend of Sleepy Hollow. In his take on the story, he hopes to answer the question of what really happened to Ichabod Crane. This is sure to be a great event of Literature come to life. We will have light refreshments, creepy snacks, and spooky prizes. Costumes are not required, but they are encouraged.
